How we choose sources, verify addresses, write articles and keep editorial recommendations separate from advertising and partner links.
Why Nippon Vegan Guide exists
Nippon Vegan Guide is an independent editorial guide for people who want to eat vegan, travel and find their way around Japan using practical information. It is not an automated keyword list, a copy of external directories or a storefront built only to display advertising: every public page should help someone make a real decision.
The guide's value is the context we add. We explain how to read a menu, distinguish a 100% vegan venue from a restaurant with options, publish addresses and mark anything that needs reconfirmation. When a listing has no reliable source or is no longer active, we remove it from the public directory instead of filling the page with uncertain information.
Author, owner and responsibility
Articles are published by Alex Peretto, with no invented authors or fictional editorial profiles. The site owner is Zero Softworks di Peretto Alex, Italian VAT no. IT04514000241. The editorial team maintains the project, decides what deserves publication and handles reports at info@zerosoftworks.it.
A byline does not mean that every experience was personally visited. For venues, classes, events and products we show the source and verification date, separating published facts from information that should be confirmed before travelling or buying.
Sources and fact checking
For activities, classes, events, addresses and availability we start with the primary source: the official venue or brand website, the organiser's page, a public authority or the booking platform presenting the experience. Directories such as HappyCow, Veg Maps and other friendly resources help us discover leads and compare information, but they do not replace checking the responsible source.
Every directory entry keeps a check date and a link to the source used when available. We check the name, address, vegan status or presence of vegan options, business status and essential practical information. Hours, menus, prices, availability, allergens and booking conditions can change, so readers should always check again before going.
- Closed or insufficiently verified businesses are not shown as active places.
- A product described as vegan is treated as one product claim, not as a claim about the entire brand.
- A partner or affiliate link does not determine whether a listing is included and is disclosed near the relevant content.
What a useful page should contain
An article should answer the reader's intent early and then provide enough context to act: a clear H1, readable headings, practical steps or criteria, a relevant photograph, alt text, internal links and cited sources. For in-depth articles we aim for enough length to explain the topic properly, not to repeat one idea with different words.
Recipes have a dedicated page with ingredients, a complete method, timings and practical notes. Travel guides connect the directory, recipes and deeper articles. Venue, class and fashion listings show what is known, where it comes from and what needs checking. Images must relate to the page rather than being interchangeable decoration, and every cover image must be distinct.
Translations, AI and human review
Italian, English and Japanese are editorial versions of the same project. Translations must preserve the meaning, limitations and warnings of the Italian version; they are not pages created just to multiply URLs. When a proper name, address or Japanese term should not be translated, we keep the correct form and add understandable context.
AI tools may help organise a draft, compare a structure or suggest a translation, but they do not replace source selection or final review. We do not publish mass-produced automatic feeds, stitched-together text or paraphrases of other pages without original editorial contribution.
Advertising, partners and independence
Google advertising is a possible source of sustainability, not the reason a page exists. AdSense loads only after the consent choice required by the site and must not cover content or turn a thin page into a monetised page. Search, editorial studio, privacy, cookies and editorial-method pages stay outside automatic advertising surfaces.
Links to Klook, shops, classes, brands and other platforms take readers to the relevant operator. If a link produces or may produce a commission, we disclose it near the link and in the Cookies & advertising page. A commercial relationship does not change the description of product limits, source checks or the decision to exclude a listing.
Updates, corrections and contact
The directory, class catalogue and fashion pages need continuous maintenance. We periodically check sources and links, remove businesses that appear closed and update notes when a location or offer changes. An article may remain online as an evergreen guide, but time-sensitive information is marked with a verification date and is never presented as permanent.
